Affiliate Organizations    

The following are affiliate organizations that are independently incorporated. SSG provides varying levels of support and technical assistance to these organizations.   

African American Alcohol and Other Drug Council (AAAOD)

AAAOD is a community-based coalition of health and human service providers established in 1992 by a grant from the State of California to the National Black Alcoholism Council.  The mission is to improve alcohol and drug services for African Americans and other minority communities in South Central Los Angeles through a program of legislative advocacy, policy change, resource development and inter-agency coordination.  AAAOD has a formal linkage with the Integrated Care System (see above under SSG Collaborative Projects), as an active member of the network of coordinated substance abuse, homeless and HIV/AIDS services.   

Los Angeles City/Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (LAAPAHM)

Each year, a committee comprised of community, business and civic leaders and volunteers assemble to plan and organize various events to commemorate Asian Pacific Heritage Month in May.  For the City of Los Angeles, Mayor James Hahn is the honorary chair.  The month long celebration is a testament to the contributions made by Asian and Pacific Islander Americans to our great city.  SSG is proud to be part of LAAPAHM by providing fiscal sponsorship as well as volunteer support and technical assistance. 

Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance

OCAPICA was established in 1997 with the mission to build a healthier and stronger community by enhancing the well-being of Asians and Pacific Islanders through inclusive partnerships in the areas of service, education, advocacy, organizing, and research.  OCAPICA conducts numerous programs in the areas of health, education, youth and policy.  OCAPICA and SSG partner together on various collaborative initiatives and projects.  SSG is proud to be part of this union and currently provides various fiscal and technical assistance services.
